Meet a Keypather: Andra Petre
What is your role at Keypath, and what does a day in the life of you here at work look like?
My role at Keypath is a Student Success Advisor for a Master of Social Work program. With around 300 + students, my day to day can get busy! I check in with my students regularly throughout the semester to see how they are progressing in the program. I answer any questions they might have about classes, registration, field placement, academics, or chat about aspirations, career paths, and their passion for social work. I also spent time getting involved in various projects, collaborating with my colleagues, refining retention strategies, and everything else that comes my way.
What is the most important skill someone in your job needs?
If I had to pick one skill, I would say time management. It plays a large role because there are many competing priorities in each day. Being able to come up with a strategy that will allow time and prioritize all tasks will ensure that you are staying organized and achieving your goals successfully.
Out of Keypath’s four core values, which resonates with you most, and why? (be inventive, be collaborative, be a lifelong learner, and be committed)
Out of the four core values, the one that resonates with me the most is be a lifelong learner. I think having a workplace that can provide opportunities to continuously learn about different skills, about various topics, and from different people is very empowering as an employee. I have a wealth of resources a desk away, or even a video call away, as our team is global. I think this core value trickles into enriching the other core values because lifelong learning will make you more inventive, will encourage collaboration, and will strengthen commitment.
How has Keypath aided your professional development or growth as a person?
I have been with Keypath for over a year and feel as though I have learned a ton both professionally and personally. Keypath has shown me what great leadership looks like, strengthened my communication skills, and has encouraged me to challenge myself.
How does your role help our students succeed?
A core part of my role is building rapport and relationships with our students. Having them know that I am there to guide, advise, motivate, or listen helps them keep engaged with the program and ultimately graduate successfully!
What’s your favorite thing about working at Keypath?
My co-workers! The culture at Keypath is very supportive and collaborative; you always feel welcome!
