Colleen Sanders is our VP of Healthcare. In her role, she strategically collaborates with prospective and current university partners to develop and maintain online/distance programs that prepare the highest quality health professionals who are ready to address the globe’s complex health care needs. Colleen develops regional and national plans to scale program enrollment while conquering the multifaceted challenges that come with professional accreditation for educational programs and state professional board rules and regulations.
What do you bring to Keypath as VP of Healthcare?
As a registered nurse (RN) and family nurse practitioner (FNP), I've spent 12 years in higher education teaching the next generation of entry-level professional nurses and nurse practitioners. While teaching and supporting programs on-campus and online, I learned how to solve the unique complexities that accompany educating health care professionals, especially in the distance format. I also maintained an active practice as an FNP which allowed me to create current and relevant learning experiences for students. As an experienced educator and clinician, I understand that students and quality must be the focal point for programs to achieve great success.
How do you measure success?
Quality programs and quality student outcomes, which produce graduates that will provide quality health care across the globe.
What excites you about higher education?
Higher education is rapidly changing and no longer has to live within the confines of university buildings. By broadening the access to high-quality education via distance and online options, we create the opportunity to connect patients with licensed health care professionals who are able to better understand, and relate to, their unique life circumstances and in doing so improve the health and well-being of individuals and populations far beyond our own reach.
What’s one hobby you couldn’t live without?
Getting out and moving every day. Whether a walk, run, yoga, or a bike ride, it is good for the body and mind (not to mention it lets me practice what I have advised my patients to do for many years!)
